Leave of Absence Decision-Making & Documentation

Policies, practices, and procedures for interrupting or extending an Effectiveness Cycle due to short or long-term leaves of absence, (i.e., FMLA, bereavement, military deployment, sabbatical, and disciplinary leave, etc.) must be decided upon and implemented locally.

The decision whether to continue the Effectiveness or Evaluation Cycle where it left off when the leave began or whether to move to the next year in the Cycle upon return from leave, is dependent on the circumstances of the leave.
